Access to the Egremni beach has been anounced to be open in 2020
The final work is expected to be completed by the end of February 2020.

The road to the popular beach of Egremni on the west coast of the island of Lefkada will be open for the next tourist season, according to the municipality. "The stairs have already started and there is no doubt that the beach will be opened to the public in the next tourist season" said Lefkadas Mayor Charalambos Kalos and informed Lefkadas body and citizens at the city council meeting in Monday, November 25.
It is recalled that after the catastrophic earthquake of 17. November 2015, when the road and stairs to the beach were severely damaged, access to the beach was officially closed.
In particular, the mayor read a relevant document that the head of the EYDE (Special Public Works Office) Peloponnese sent to the municipality and according to which:
The road has been 95% completely restored and asphalted, while the rest of the road will be concreted due to the steep slopes. The road protection is 100% completed. At this time (the document was about 10 days ago) the work on the access scale is in progress. The planned rock protection on a scale with free meshes was completed to 98%, while the foundation work with drilling and anchoring in the rock was completed to approx. 40% (these are the steps). The planned delivery date for the project without delays due to weather conditions or other unforeseen situations is the end of February 2020.
In response to a question from Constantinos Gligoris, head of the "Diavlos";, about the material used to make the stairs, the mayor replied that after the addition of an additional study, the anchors would be fired with wood and the handrail tempered.
