Soft restart. Greek gastronomy will open earlier

On the way back to normality, catering establishments will be allowed to reopen their outdoor seating from 3 May, the Orthodox Easter Monday. However, stricter rules apply than in 2020.

These rules apply to the catering sector and its guests

  • Customers will only be allowed to sit outdoors.
  • Only sitting customers will be allowed.
  • Up to six people can sit at each table.
  • The distances between the tables range from 90 cm to 1.8 m, depending on whether there is a chair in the space between
  • At the same time, the maximum allowed number of customers will not be set based on the square footage.
  • The bar will be used only with seated customers. Up to two stools may be placed side by side. The next pair of stools should be 1.5 meters away.
  • Catering workers will have to take self-tests twice a week. The cost for one self test will be covered by the state, while for the other the cost will be covered by the employer.
  • Disinfectants on every table.
  • Employees will be required to wear a mask. Customers must also wear a mask while waiting, and there is a strong mask recommendation for seated customers.
  • There is a curfew from 11pm to 5am. This means that it is better to be home by 11pm.
