Greek Restaurants, cafes and bars set to reopen
The catering business starts on May 3

Soft restart. Greek gastronomy will open earlier
On the way back to normality, catering establishments will be allowed to reopen their outdoor seating from 3 May, the Orthodox Easter Monday. However, stricter rules apply than in 2020.
These rules apply to the catering sector and its guests
- Customers will only be allowed to sit outdoors.
- Only sitting customers will be allowed.
- Up to six people can sit at each table.
- The distances between the tables range from 90 cm to 1.8 m, depending on whether there is a chair in the space between
- At the same time, the maximum allowed number of customers will not be set based on the square footage.
- The bar will be used only with seated customers. Up to two stools may be placed side by side. The next pair of stools should be 1.5 meters away.
- Catering workers will have to take self-tests twice a week. The cost for one self test will be covered by the state, while for the other the cost will be covered by the employer.
- Disinfectants on every table.
- Employees will be required to wear a mask. Customers must also wear a mask while waiting, and there is a strong mask recommendation for seated customers.
- There is a curfew from 11pm to 5am. This means that it is better to be home by 11pm.
How to travel to Greece
Greece opens to all tourists on May 15 so long as they have a certificate confirming their vaccination for COVID-19 or have a negative test no older than 72 hours upon arrival.
