Is Egremni Beach Open? Important Safety Update for 2026 Visitors

If you are planning a trip from Vasiliki to Egremni Beach, please take note of recent changes. Due to intense winter storms in February, the famous staircase leading down to the beach has sustained damage.

What happened?

Heavy rainwater caused a rockfall near the bottom of the trail, damaging the metal stairs and blocking the path. Social media reports from locals and tourists show that the area is currently precarious and not fit for climbing.

Can I still visit?

While the stairs are unsafe, the beach remains one of the most beautiful spots in the Ionian. For now, we recommend visiting via boat trip from Vasiliki to enjoy the turquoise waters safely from the sea.
