Mediterranean cyclone 'Ianos' causing flooding

The bad weather continues with undiminished intensity in Lefkada, where the schools are not working today. Especially the southern part of the island is in the vortex of the Mediterranean Cyclone from 4:00 in the morning.

Stormy winds, reaching up to 10 Beaufort, and torrential rain affects areas in Vasiliki and Ponti. Many roads and houses were flooded as streams flowed down from the surrounding mountains, while urban crews tried to extend the water outlet to the sea by partially opening the promenade wall and removing tree trunks from tributaries. Also, two sandy beaches in Vasiliki have disappeared. The school remains closed.

Now it seems that the situation is calming down, restaurants and shops can gradually free themselves from rubble and water.
