It's time to say goodbye to plastic bags and go shopping with reusable bags. The free distribution of thin plastic bags (thickness 0-50 mm) from the coffers of the supermarkets and shops is prohibited since the beginning of 2018. Super markets are charging 4 cents per bag and will be increased to 9 cents in 2019. Excluded from the end of the bags are thin plastic bags below 50 microns for fruits and vegetables.

The regulations adopted in light of the need to reduce the environmental impact and to encourage waste prevention that irreversibly damage marine ecosystems.

What should you use instead?

Ideally, choose spacious, washable, cloth to be stored when they are empty and can fit in your pocket.
